Mitchell Parks & Recreation is launching the Mitchell Playground Project to help build an inclusive playground—a space where children of all abilities can play side by side.
For families of children with physical, sensory, or developmental challenges, traditional playgrounds can create barriers instead of opportunities. Some equipment is difficult to access, and certain surfaces can limit mobility. We believe every child deserves a place to play—together.
An inclusive playground is about more than accessibility. It’s a statement that every member of our community matters. Play supports physical health, emotional growth, creativity, and social skills—and when children play together, they learn empathy, cooperation, and understanding.
