There will be a Public Hearing on November 4, 2024 at 6:00pm in the council chambers for information on the Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Repairs Grant. We encourage all who are interested to attend this meeting.
The City of Mitchell will be receiving a grant for Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Repairs for low to moderate income households. When the applications become available we will post on the City website and Facebook page. If you are interested in applying for this program please contact Southern Indiana Development Commission at 812-295-3707 or the Mayors Office at 812-849-5161.

Help us keep our cemetery looking nice. Please refrain from putting any signs (yard sale, advertisements, etc.) at Main St and Teke Bruton Dr. Any signs placed in this area will be removed by the city employees. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
The Lawrence County Community Foundation Partnership has issued a challenge grant that includes the Mitchell Community. These grants can be used in many ways to the benefit of all who call Mitchell “Home”. Examples: City Park, City Pool, Downtown Flower Planters and any city improvements qualify. The remaining funds would be invested in the Mitchell Heritage Fund. The interest from this fund flows back to our city each year. Last year we received approximately $350.00. Let’s set our goals high and reach for 1st or 2nd in the fundraising and receive the extra $5000.00. Make your check payable and mail to: Lawrence County Community Foundation, PO Box 1235, Bedford, IN 47421

Thank you to David Miller and Hoosier Uplands for supporting our Police Department and community with the funding to purchase body cameras for all of our officers.
